This project marked a turning point for me. Iron Rivers Café, part of the New River Head redevelopment, was where I began to lean fully into the design process, concept, narrative and craft. During my placement with a leading hospitality interior design studio, I learned to structure concepts through architectural, contextual and emotional anchors, a framework that shaped this project. I also started to see my graphic language evolve, especially through rendering and presentation. The brief itself, a playful commission for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, allowed me to explore colour, storytelling and atmosphere. It’s a project that taught me to enjoy both the discipline and the imagination in design, and it later earned me the Best Portfolio of the Year 2024 award.
